“The Walking Dead” S5 E7 “Stradivarius.”
This journalist was not able to review last week’s episode and for that I am sorry.
Last week , “The Walking Dead’ shows off some of the scariest villains/walkers we’ve ever seen finally showed up on the show. The Whisperers revealed themselves to the audience. Unfortunately, Rosita and Eugene were up close and personal with them.
The new Group
Not being a reader of the graphic novels that “The Walking Dead” is based on, I was very curious about what The Whisperers were all about. Now I know they are the worst that the survivors have faced. Worse than the initial onslaught of the Walkers. Worse than the prison. Worse than the Governor, Worse than losing each other escaping the prison….worse than anything including Negan. OK, so Negan is probably really number one, but we haven’t seen what these pseudo zombies can/will do.
Rosita and Eugene
As these two were walking around the forest, they ran into a rather large hoard of zombies. As they were running it occured to Rosita that they weren’t going to make it so she threw the wounded Eugene into a a lower piece of ground that had some water, dirt and leaves which she tried to cover them up with. As the hoard came though, our two survivors heard them…..talking. They talk like a walker’s growling voice. They look like walkers. I was horrified, still am. “The Walking Dead is scaring me again. I use to go to bed on Sunday night with a knot in my tummy and it went away. It is back, lovin’ it!!!
Daryl, Carol and Henry
There was some scary walker, Daryl, Henry and Dog fight. Henry actually saved Daryl’s life, however Carol was in the wings with her drawn bow, ready to save the day.
The new group ends up being taken to the Hilltop, but doesn’t get there.
Terra’s Opinion
This episode was amazing and it will be one I watch over again, a few times. Excellent acting and really scary non zombies in the form of Whisperers. When they talk to each other, I want to run out my door and hide in the forest. I am afraid of Slender man. I’ll hide in the closet…I’ll hear them coming.
I hope you are enjoying the show as much as I am. In a very rare turn of events, an old and rather tired show has been made over and is amongst some of the best cable TV has to offer.
