A Closer Look at the DXF Premium Genos Figure
In recent years, One Punch Man has become one of the most popular anime/manga series out there. It’s also spawned a variety of unique characters, many of which have captured the hearts of fans. One of the main characters, Genos, is a personal favorite of mine. So, I was very excited to find this figure of him. Even better, it was created by Banpresto; this company is known for its high-quality, but affordable anime figures. In this post, I’ll be taking a closer look at the Genos figure, and going over some of its features.
According to Amazon, this figure measures 4 x 4”, and stands at a height of 7.9”. It features Genos in a confident, imposing stance, ready to take on evil. The figure includes a stand that attaches to his feet. In addition, this statue is part of Banpresto’s DXF figure line; it features characters from many other popular series, such as One Piece and Dragon Ball Z. As listed on Amazon, the figure’s full title is: “Banpresto 39347 One Punch Man DXF Premium Genos Figure.” Speaking of Amazon, I pre-ordered this figure there for $19, and it officially released through the retail site on July 19, 2019.
My Opinion of This Figure
Overall, I adore this figure of Genos. It’s very well painted, complete with many intricate details and blemishes. As far as I can tell, there are barely any scuffs or imperfections, and the existing ones aren’t noticeable. Moreover, all the painting is within the lines; it doesn’t overlap or spread to other areas. The colors are quite accurate to how Genos appears in the anime, as well. In particular, the hair is two-toned, with dark blonde fading into black at the ends. And the eyes are stark black with amber in the center, causing them to really stand out. The eyes are actually one of my favorite parts of this figure.
Additionally, the arms look absolutely amazing. The mechanical aspects are so well executed; they truly look like machine parts. Furthermore, the painting has a nice sheen to it, one that’s very distinct. These factors combine to effectively reinforce the fact that Genos is indeed a cyborg. Even the clothes appear fairly accurate to real life. They’re complete with creases and stitch lines in all the right places, just like actual clothing.
Another facet of this figure that I love, is Genos’s pose. It’s really cool and fits well with his general personality. It looks as if Genos is preparing to march into battle, without a moment’s hesitation. The pose really does suit such a valiant hero.
In addition, the included stand was simple and easy to assemble. There are pegs on the bottom of Genos’s feet, and all I had to do was align them with a few holes in the stand. Even better, the stand is sturdy and of high-quality. It does a great job of supporting the entire figure; So, there’s no need to worry about it toppling over or being unstable.
Normally, I would include any criticisms here. However, I honestly don’t have any issues with this figure. As I stated before, it has a few scuffs, but they’re so tiny and minor. I don’t believe they can be counted against the figure’s overall quality.
In conclusion, this Genos statue has everything you could ask for in a figure. The painting is immaculate, all the little details are present, the coloring is on point, and the stand works well. Truly, this is an incredible figure. It’s more than worthy of purchasing, especially for just $20 or so. This is a fantastic deal in so many aspects.
I’m also including a link to the Amazon listing for this figure, in case you want to buy one for yourself. But, to be clear, I’m not affiliated with Amazon in any way, or making any money off this post. Just want to share this with others!
