After waking up in an apartment where only the night before a party was raging, Sam is forced to come to grips with reality: He is now alone and the living dead have invaded the streets of Paris. Petrified with fear, Sam is going to have to barricade himself inside the building and organize his survival. But is he really the sole survivor?
In Paris, Sam goes to the apartment of his ex-girlfriend to take his tapes back. She is giving a party and asks Sam to go to an isolated room to seek the box with his tapes. He falls asleep on a couch and in the morning he finds the apartment and walls covered with stains of blood. Soon he learns that everybody was murdered by zombies. Sam looks for supplies in the building and barricades himself in a safe apartment. Sam realizes that there are only living dead on the street. As the days go by, Sam survives but feels lonely. Until the day he meets Sarah, when he realizes that he is also losing his sanity. (Written By: Claudio Carvalho, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
The Night Eats The Day

The Night Eats The Day

Sam (Anders Danielsen Lie) visits the apartment of a former girlfriend to pick up some music cassette tapes when a zombie outbreak occurs.
As Sam wakes up from a nap, the apartment is quiet. The Ex, Fanny (Sigrid Bouaziz) puts Sam in a back bedroom and promises to be right back; she never shows. With Sam trying to shake off the nap, he realizes that the apartment is very quiet. When he was in the house the night before, it was full of people and loud music. When he goes out to the main part of the apartment, he finds blood all over the floors and walls. He also finds zombies which he dispatches.
As he figures out what has happened, he tries to settle into life in the apartment building which he has cleared of zombies. There is one he leaves because he is stuck in the gate of the elevator. This old man who was once a doctor becomes his only friend.
Unfortunate Sam is not handling the zombie apocalypse very well. As time goes on and he gets tired of making music and listening to his tapes, he starts hallucinating.  This is never good in a major zombie outbreak in Paris or anywhere else.
Terra’s Opinion:
As I said above, this is a zombie film. Unfortunately, for me at least, it doesn’t show situations with zombies as much as I personally would have liked. The zombies are basically a reason to get Sam inside an apartment building by himself. The film is about a man’s decent into a kind of madness that can only be created by the absolute absence of other people. Yes, he had one friend, the guy in the elevator. Sam becames very upset with this man after talking to him for so long and not getting an answer. Of course, he told him off and then apologized to him later. Madness.
There is also some brilliance in this film. I feel like it would be a spoiler to go into some of the most brilliant parts of the film. Suffice it to say that I was put out about there not being enough zombies, so something kept me watching.
I thought the acting on Anders’ part was excellent. This is pretty much a one man show and he pulled it off with flying colors.

The French make excellent films and TV shows. I am always interested in seeing any foreign films, but French films are special. It’s worth giving this one an hour and a half of your time. I think you’ll enjoy it.
